Flaminia Bonciani
Born in Rome but raised across continents, Flaminia Bonciani's journey has taken her from a business degree in New York to the world of acting, even securing a role in the Oscar-winning "La Grande Bellezza." Yet, her true calling lay in art. Now completing her Master's at the City and Guilds of London, she dives headfirst into painting.
Bonciani's work tackles a profound concern: humanity's disconnect from life's deeper truths. In our modern age, obsessed with robotic immortality and yearning for self-understanding, we stand at a critical crossroads. Pleasure reigns supreme, yet leaves us empty. Through her art, she acts as a modern-day shaman, unveiling the unspoken truth hidden behind "the thing" – a symbol of the forbidden realm society pushes away. Using spray-canned oil paint, she crafts a potent metaphor: the dissolving individual lost in perpetual dissatisfaction, trapped in a cycle where the pursuit of pleasure consumes us entirely. Her art acts as a call to action, urging us to break free from superficiality and rediscover the essence of being human.
